About Us
Founded in October 2023 amidst a surge of antisemitism, Atlanta Jewish Artists emerged as a sanctuary for Jewish creatives grappling with the challenges of our time. What began as a safe space for artists to express their feelings and experiences as Jews in a difficult world has blossomed into a vibrant community dedicated to exploring and celebrating Jewish identity through art.
Our group provides a supportive environment where Jewish artists in Atlanta can connect, share, and discuss what it means to create art rooted in Jewish tradition and experience. We focus on fostering meaningful conversations about our collective journey as Jewish artists, navigating the intersections of culture, creativity, and community.
Atlanta Jewish Artists is committed to uniting and uplifting our members, promoting collaboration, and enhancing the visibility and impact of Jewish art in our city. We strive to be a beacon of resilience and creativity, transforming our shared experiences into powerful expressions of identity and solidarity.
Mission Statement
Atlanta Jewish Artists is dedicated to enriching our community through the vibrant expression of Jewish culture and creativity. Our mission is to cultivate a thriving local arts scene by developing and showcasing Jewish art, advocating for our presence in creative spaces, and fostering collaboration among Jewish artists. We strive to tell uplifting and empowering Jewish stories, breaking free from traditional narratives of tragedy and instead celebrating the resilience and diversity of our heritage. By contributing to the educational discourse in Atlanta, we aim to broaden understanding and appreciation of Jewish culture through the transformative power of art.
